ambassadors

Stand Tall have carefully selected Ambassadors who represent the core values of our organisation and act as role models for the students who attend our events.

Our Ambassadors speak at our live events and in school presentations, help create positive content throughout the year for our social media platforms and interact with students through meet and greets.

We believe in the power of positive role models for young people and that is why we're proud to partner with such inspiring individuals.

Daniel's strength and self-belief has inspired countless Australians.

  • Derek Rabelo

BIG WAVES, NO SIGHT, ACHIEVING WHAT YOU PUT YOUR MIND TO WITH PASSION.

Born with glaucoma, Rabelo grew up in Brazil's coastal city of Guarapari with a surf-mad father and two uncles who were professional surfers. His blindness, he said, was never considered a barrier to the ocean. But it wasn't until a present of a surfboard from his father on his 17th birthday that Derek tried riding his first waves. Just five years later, he became a professional surfer travelling the world's most famous surf breaks, often with his coach Magno Passos. Today, Derek inspires young people to push through their adversities to reach their dreams.
