Stop copying, start shining: Why authenticity is a superpower

Every year, thousands of young people walk into a Stand Tall Australia event, and every year we're reminded that the message they need most, isn't complicated. It doesn't need to be 'dressed up' or 'made clever'. It just needs to be said - clearly, honestly, and often.

As part of our ongoing series, we're asking our team: What do you wish every young person in Australia knew?

Here's what our Relationship Manager, Charlotte Marriott , shared:

"Don't be a copy version of someone else - you are designed to be unique and shine your authentic self!"

In a world where young people are growing up comparing their behind-the-scenes to everyone else's highlight reel, this message matters more than ever.

Social media, school culture, and the pressure to fit in can make individuality feel like a risk rather than a strength. Charlotte's role means she spends a lot of her time building relationships with schools and communities - and she sees firsthand how much young people are craving permission to simply be themselves.

Our events exist to give teenagers that permission. Not to hand them a script for who they should become, but to remind them that they were never meant to be a copy of anyone else in the first place. Their differences, their quirks, their way of seeing the world - that's exactly what the world needs from them.

With speakers who share about the importance and power of our differences, we're helping to inspire self acceptance and self belief in the next generation.
