Our ‘Stand Tall Camp’ is a life-changing, live-in 5-day coastal camp where young people who may be going through challenging times can relax and have fun in a safe and nurturing environment. The camp includes activities such as swimming, snorkelling and basketball. They hear from a range of speakers who provide some encouraging and challenging sessions and talks to build a framework of hope and encouragement for all involved. It provides the young people with an environment in which they are able to develop new friendships and where they can be supported by positive adult mentors and role models.
These camps are often a life-changing week for all involved. Some previous guest speakers include: Nick Farr-Jones – Australian World Cup-winning Wallabies Captain, Steve Carfino – former Sydney Kings Basketball star and Joany Badenhorst – our Ambassador and Australian Paralympian. In 2018 the students had a surprise visit and surfing lesson from International blind big wave surfer, Derek Rabelo, who empower each young person to embrace their future with hope and courage.
